Scope included: Tower Scaffolding – 150 foot steel beam was used to carry the weight of the tower scaffolding. No scaffolding weight rested on the existing roof due to the structure conditions. Structural Wood Replacement – The tower sheathing was removed to install large wood structural members. New Copper Gutters – All existing built-in gutters were replaced with 20 oz copper and proper drainage was established before the copper gutters were installed. All new copper roof valleys were installed using 20 oz copper. A new slate roof consisting of new sheathing, underlayment, and slate was installed on the tower. The slate patterns were installed like the original roof constructed in 1886.
